Experienced Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer Company: The
Boeing Company Boeing’s Product Safety & Investigations (PS&I)
team is seeking an Experienced Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer to
join our team in Long Beach, CA to support the on-going safety
analysis and certification efforts within Boeing Global Services
(BGS). An ideal fit for this position is one with engineering
background and experience interfacing with multiple/varied
functions. Strong team leadership skills and a desire to work with
a large degree of autonomy. Strong communication skills are
critical as this role communicates and interfaces regularly with a
variety of stakeholders. Primary responsibilities: Provides
technical guidance and training across the company relative to
complex safety and airworthiness matters. Lead and coach the BGS
teams who are working on modifications and conversion projects.
Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate
system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters,
and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program
interfaces. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and
monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk,
issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment
processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Maintains
situational awareness of the overall program and critical path
sequencing. Proactively communicates with various leadership
team/s, peers and customers. Oversees reviews of regulatory and
customer requirements and evaluation of impact to company products
and services. Leads the review of highly complex regulatory and
certification technical data for completeness and alignment to
applicable regulatory and contractual requirements. Oversees
development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of
aerospace systems and products. Leads system research and analysis
to identify potential fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns and
quantifies impact. Identifies safety and mission assurance issue
systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using
industry best practices. Collaborates with internal and external
stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety, mission
success, and airworthiness requirements; incorporates into designs,
operations, and procedures. Leads, influences or reviews tests,
analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify system
meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements. Leads
creation of aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and
processes. Leads documentation of complex safety analysis, hazard
mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance
with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards. Develops
safety plan strategies and coordinates safety and corrective action
plans with programs. Demonstrates safety hazard risk mitigations
and control methods to the customer and regulators. Establishes
global safety advocacy strategies, training, tools, and methods.?
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite. Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills and Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering,
Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology),
Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or
non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work
statement 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience Experience working in a
function or program. Experience with project management and
self-managing projects. Desire to work in a collaborative
environment and ability to interact well with various levels of
leadership and front-line employees Ability to accomplish goals on
a self-directed basis Experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience with regulatory agencies' procedures and process
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Experience in presenting data to customers, suppliers, and program
and site leaders. Knowledge of BGS Government Services product
portfolio is preferred. Previous experience with Safety Management
Systems and/or understanding of FAA Part 5 regulations relating to
SMS (or the equivalent global ICAO standards). Understanding of
Safety Risk Management/Bowtie methodology. Knowledge of
integration, verification, and certification processes Knowledge of
Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and Airworthiness
Directives (ADs) Experience in FAA certification Experience leading
multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules Experience
leading or managing projects and/or teams Experience leading a
large project or program which required the use of project
management tools and processes Experience with the operation of
aircraft systems and knowledge of aircraft performance in one or
more of the following areas: aerodynamics, stability and control,
propulsion, structures, and mission systems Experience with
planning project budgets and monitoring financial performance Drug

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well
as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $114,750
