Work That Matters.OverviewPurpose Statement/Position
Summary:Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a full-time
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for our inpatient Cardiology Service.
This role will work collaboratively with Attending Cardiologists
managing patients in our Cardiac Step-down unit CV Acute with both
congenital heart disease and acquired conditions.The Nurse
Practitioner in Cardiology is an advanced practice nurse who
provides nursing and medical services to patients, emphasizing
health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis
and management of acute and chronic diseases. Responsibilities
include, but not limited to, obtaining and documenting patient
medical history; performing physical examinations; obtaining
procedural informed consent; ordering, conducting and interpreting
appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests; prescription of
pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies
in a cost-efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in
collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage
clients' health care problems. Serves as health care resource,
interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate. Demonstrates
commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Employee
will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling
supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.Minimum
Qualifications/Work Experience: Three years pediatric RN experience
preferred. 1 year of specialty area experience and nurse
practitioner experience
preferred.Education/Licensure/Certification: Master's Degree in
Nursing required. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner
Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for
"hold out as a Nurse Practitioner" as defined in Section 1482,
Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. Current
California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a
Nurse Practitioner. Current BCLS and PALS from the American Heart
Association certification required. Eligible for Furnishing License
- required. National certification as appropriate -
preferred.Hours: Will include both inpatient and outpatient, shifts
can vary between days/nights & weekends, 8hr and 12hr shifts. Hours

Information$137,072.00-$246,854.00CHLA values the contribution each

successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of
factors, including, but not limited to education and experience
within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this
position is generally for candidates that meet the specified
qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job
description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates
that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. We
